H.R. Boot Camp for the Veterinary Practice
You're not alone! Personnel management is the #1 concern for practice owners and managers!

Presented By: Mark Opperman, CVPM and Sheila Roe Grosdidier, RVT, PHR

The number one management challenge facing every practice owner or manager is personnel management. H.R. Boot Camp was specifically designed to assist with this problem. This 2-day workshop starts off with the basics on how to hire, train and discharge your healthcare team. You'll learn to identify "10" employees and how to cultivate more of them in your practice.

H.R. Boot Camp also covers some "upper level" personnel management concepts. We'll teach you the most common H.R. mistakes and how to avoid them. Participants will learn how to improve employee retention and how to compensate based on performance. This truly is an intense seminar to help you effectively manage the number one problem faced by practice owners and managers.
Day 1
The Hiring Process - Learn how to create a resource pool of applicants that will allow you to hire "10" employees. We'll review advertising considerations, reference checking and the most efficient interview process to maximize your time and effectiveness.

Policies & Procedures - During this session you'll actually develop an employee manual for your practice to include the appropriate policies, procedures and legal requirements. If you currently have a manual, this will be a great opportunity to review and update it with current HR requirements.

Performance Planning & Evaluation - Let's help your employees be the best they can be. Learn new and excitingways to handle performance planning and evaluations. We'll look at various incentive programs and see if one's right for you and your practice.
Day 2
Common HR Mistakes & How to Avoid Them - This is information every practice owner and manager truly needsto know. We'll discuss requirements for documentation and employment law. Keep yourself and your practice free from time consuming and often costly labor board and legal actions.

Handling Personnel Issues - What's the number one HR problem? Dealing with conflict and problem solving within the work place! Learn when to get involved and when to stay out of the situation. We'll address how to improve your communication and conflict resolution skills so that problems are favorably resolved.

Compensation, Benefits, Motivation, Delegation & Discipline - Want to learn how to determine the appropriate compensation and benefit package for your team? What incentive programs might be effective for your practice environment? Learn the techniques to become an efficient delegator and how to motivate your team to greater practice success. If termination is necessary, learn the "broken record" response and other techniques to liberate employees professionally and without consequence.

What To Do Next - Each participant will leave with an action plan to implement immediately back at the office!
